Workers have the chance to return home for Tet after more than 5 years
On January 21, at Bien Hoa station, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with the Dong Nai Provincial Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam Railway Trade Union organized the program "Union Train - Spring 2025" to bring workers home for Tet.
Arriving at Bien Hoa station early in the morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lung (from Hai Duong province), a worker who has worked for more than 14 years at TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City), felt excited because it had been more than 5 years since she, her husband and youngest son had the opportunity to return home to celebrate Tet with their family on a Tet train organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Ms. Lung is a very poor worker. Therefore, her family can only make ends meet. The train ride home for Tet has been her family's dream for many years.
Ms. Lung confided: "Now that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has supported us with a round-trip ticket, my family feels very happy and joyful."
At the program, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh, Vice President of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang and leaders of Dong Nai Provincial Confederation of Labor met, wished a happy new year and gave lucky money gifts to 60 union members, workers and 50 relatives before boarding train number TN4 to return home to celebrate Tet with their families. The train departed from Bien Hoa station (Dong Nai) at 12:00 on January 21 to Hanoi station.
According to the plan for this year's Tet holiday, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will organize activities to support means of transport for union members and workers to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to work after Tet. Of which, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will support 400 air tickets and nearly 2,000 train tickets for workers and their relatives to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to work. Dong Nai province alone will be supported with 350 round-trip train tickets and 92 air tickets to bring union members in the province back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor's program.
Deploy more widely, deeply and meaningfully the program of bringing workers home for Tet
Speaking at the meeting to wish workers a happy new year before they boarded the train to return home for Tet, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh said that for many years, every time Tet comes, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has issued a plan to take better care of union members and workers with many practical contents.
This includes organizing trains, buses, and planes to take workers home to celebrate Tet with their families and return to work to stabilize production.
Dong Nai province's trade unions at all levels have also organized to pick up and drop off over 10,000 union members and workers on buses and 1,000 union members and workers on trains to return home for Tet.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh hopes that there will be more and more trains, planes and buses so that union members and workers who do not have the means will be able to return home to celebrate Tet.
This is the legitimate aspiration of union members and workers. Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh said that in 2026, this activity will be increasingly implemented more widely, deeply and meaningfully.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Y - President of Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor said that according to reports from all levels of unions, up to now, over 700,000 gifts from the provincial level and 1,000 train tickets for union members and workers to return home to celebrate Tet with their families have been deployed to workers, many other activities at all levels of unions have also been deployed, with a total value of over 450 billion VND.
Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor also organized the program "Tet Reunion Train - Spring 2025" to bring 1,000 union members and workers back to their hometowns to celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025 on 15 trains from January 23 to 26. On January 24 alone, Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor organized a meeting, New Year greetings and lucky money gifts for 150 union members and workers before boarding train SE16 (the train left Bien Hoa station at exactly 9:17 am) to return home to celebrate Tet with their families.
