The Da Nang City Party Committee and People's Committee have just held a conference to summarize the work of solving employment for workers in the northwestern mountainous communes after operating the two-level government.
According to statistics, the area includes 13 mountainous communes, with a workforce of more than 54,000 people, of which over 43,000 people have jobs, the unemployment rate remains below 3%.
Over the past 5 years, the city has organized 38 job fairs, successfully connecting about 70% of workers to participate. Preferential credit programs disburse more than VND931 billion, supporting over 14,000 workers in ethnic minority areas. Notably, 97 workers were sent to work in Japan, Korea, Laos and some Southeast Asian countries, contributing to raising the average income per capita in this region to 30 million VND/year by 2025.
Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang acknowledged the achieved results, and at the same time proposed focusing on completing infrastructure, expanding vocational training associated with market demand, and increasing support for startups. The goal is to make the northwest a bright spot in employment and sustainable poverty reduction.
