Many care models focus on workers
Over the past time, Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union levels have innovated operations, promoted care and protection of the rights of union members and workers. Many programs such as Tet Sum vay, Workers' Month, Trade Union Meals have been implemented.
For Workers' Month 2026 alone, trade union levels mobilized nearly 2 billion VND to care for 3,277 union members and workers; awarded 12 Great Solidarity houses, 685 gifts; organized 16 Trade Union Meals for nearly 18,900 union members and free health check-ups for 700 workers.
In addition, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinates health check-ups, health consultations, guidance on installing electronic health records and the "Doctor for Every Home" application for union members and workers.
At Furukawa Automotive Systems Vinh Long Vietnam Co., Ltd., the grassroots trade union strengthens supervision of regimes and policies, and at the same time deploys QR codes to receive and promptly handle workers' petitions.
At De Heus Co., Ltd., many policies that are more beneficial than regulations are implemented such as building wage scales higher than the regional minimum level, paying full salaries and allowances right from the probation period, increasing lunch meals to 50,000 VND/meal and maintaining cultural, sports, and training activities.
Meanwhile, Khang Thinh Co., Ltd. maintains periodic dialogues, signs collective labor agreements, organizes Trade Union Meals, and cares for union members. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, a worker at Leader Vietnam Garment Co., Ltd., the timely care and support of the Trade Union organization helps workers overcome difficulties and feel secure in sticking with the business.
Promoting the role of representing and protecting the rights of union members
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that after 1 year of operating according to the new model, Trade Union levels have gradually stabilized their organization, innovated operating methods and promoted the effective role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
The Provincial Labor Federation is also advising on the implementation of the Trade Union Social Housing Project in Giao Long Industrial Park with a scale of 699 apartments, expected to be put into use in the third quarter of 2027, contributing to realizing the goal of stable housing and career for workers.
In addition, the models "Stick to the area, close to the grassroots level", "Bridge connecting union members", "Mother and baby club", "Where to send all love" continue to be effective, contributing to improving the quality of Trade Union activities. From these results, in the past year, the whole province has newly developed more than 34,000 union members and established 65 grassroots trade unions.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh said that in the coming time, Trade Union levels will continue to strengthen the supervision of the implementation of salaries, bonuses, salary scales, salary tables, labor norms and bonus regulations at enterprises; promptly propose handling the situation of debt and evasion of social insurance contributions, and at the same time improve the quality of dialogue, collective bargaining and signing labor agreements with more beneficial terms for workers.
Along with that, the Provincial Labor Federation continues to replicate the models of Trade Union Meals, Year-end Meals, Tet Sum vay - Loving Spring, expanding welfare programs with preferential rates from 5-30%. At the same time, advising on the development of social housing, kindergartens, cultural institutions and policies to support workers' children...
