Da Nang - A female portrait was discovered along with many artifacts in the tomb of an unidentified martyr at Tam Phuoc Martyrs' Cemetery.

On August 8, the Military Command of Da Nang City said that it had just discovered a female portrait and many artifacts during the excavation of an unidentified martyr's grave at Tam Phuoc Martyrs' Cemetery, Tay Ho commune.

Accordingly, in the afternoon of August 7, during the excavation of the tomb of an unidentified martyr to take biological samples for DNA testing at Tam Phuoc Martyrs' Cemetery, Tay Ho commune, Da Nang city, functional forces discovered many artifacts, including a remarkable portrait of a woman.

The artifacts were discovered at grave number 292, row number 6, identification code 48-070-00258. In addition to the woman's photo, there is also a wallet, money and some personal belongings in the grave.

These unique artifacts are valuable information sources, contributing to supplementing clues for functional agencies to review dossiers, compare information, and verify the identity of martyrs.

Tam Phuoc Martyrs' Cemetery belongs to Tay Ho commune, Da Nang city, Tam Ky district area, Quang Nam province - Da Nang before.

In Tay Ho commune, there are currently 3 martyrs' cemeteries including Tam Phuoc, Tam Loc and Tam Thanh, with a total of 981 graves; of which 580 graves have not been identified. To date, functional forces have exhumed 279 graves and taken 229 biological samples for DNA testing.

Along with speeding up the progress of biological sample taking, functional agencies are continuing to review records, preserve and verify artifacts discovered, especially photos of women, with the hope of having more grounds to identify and search for relatives of martyrs.
