Diversifying forms, close to workers' needs
According to Mr. Vo Manh Son - Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, the whole province currently has nearly 400,000 employees, including more than 388,000 union members. This is the main labor force in industrial parks and administrative agencies, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the locality. Recognizing that role, trade unions at all levels have actively innovated the content and forms of propaganda and education through competitions, seminars, document issuance, and the use of digital platforms such as fanpages, YouTube, Zalo, etc. to spread legal policy information.
In the past 5 years, more than 660,000 union members and workers have participated in studying and disseminating the Party's resolutions and directives and the State's laws and policies. Topics such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Workers' Month", "Hoa Xanh Hoan Kiem Khoang" were organized enthusiastically and effectively.
In particular, the work of legal propaganda has left its mark with more than 10,900 direct propaganda sessions, more than 821,600 attendees; organizing hundreds of mobile consultations and dialogues at businesses and boarding houses. The propaganda content focuses on laws directly related to workers' rights such as the Labor Code, the Trade Union Law, the Social Insurance Law, the Labor Insurance Law, etc. The Provincial Federation of Labor also organizes many online law learning contests with tens of thousands of workers participating, helping to consolidate knowledge in a vivid and easy-to-remember way.
Many good models and effective ways to do it in propaganda
Not only implementing systematically in the trade union system, propaganda work has also received the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province through a series of specific resolutions and projects. Notably, the province has issued Decision No. 4714 on resolving labor disputes; developing coordination plans with the Provincial Federation of Labor in the work of propagating, disseminating and educating the law at enterprises.
In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor has implemented a series of important projects such as: "Enhancing political courage, awareness of law compliance, industrial working style", "Building a cultural life of workers in industrial parks", or a communication project, health care for female workers. The team of reporters and propagandists has been strengthened and trained periodically, promoting the effectiveness of spreading policies and guidelines to the grassroots.
Good and creative models such as the "Workers' Cultural Corner", the "3V - For Workers, for the Trade Union organization, for the sustainable development of enterprises" ... along with the application of digital technology have created a new look for workers' education. Not only stopping at disseminating laws, many activities also integrate propaganda about studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, helping to improve professional ethics, awareness of thrift and industrial style among workers.
Despite many achievements, the work of propagating and educating the law for workers in Thanh Hoa still has some shortcomings. The team of grassroots propaganda cadres is still lacking and weak, most of them work many jobs simultaneously; the grasp of ideas and public opinion at some grassroots unions is still passive; a part of the enterprise has not really created conditions for unions to conduct propaganda activities due to high focus on production.
According to Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor Vo Manh Son, to overcome the limitations, in the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on groups of tasks such as raising political awareness, workers' ethics; disseminating laws close to reality; increasing "resistance" to erroneous and bad and toxic views; promoting the application of digital technology and innovating communication methods. Along with that, it will focus on building a team of skilled and experienced propagandists; effectively coordinate with authorities... promptly orient public opinion and refute distorted information.
