According to the latest data from Hai Phong City Statistics, as of July 1, the number of workers working in industrial enterprises in Hai Phong increased by about 5% compared to the previous month and 6.4% compared to the same period last year. In the first 7 months of the year, the whole industry recorded an increase of 3.5%, showing that the labor market is recovering and the demand for human resources continues to remain high.
Some industries have seen outstanding labor growth, such as the production of other means of transport increased by 45%, wood processing and wood product production increased by 8.3%, and the production of electronics, computers and optical products increased by 8.1%. The industries producing prefabricated metal products, electricity production and distribution, and chemical manufacturing also recorded an increase of 5-6%.
In contrast, some labor sectors have decreased due to market demand and production structure. Repairing, maintaining and installing machinery and equipment decreased by 45.2%, electrical equipment production decreased by nearly 13%, while tobacco, footwear and beverage production decreased slightly by 3-9%.
In addition, the job market is still vibrant. In July 2025, Hai Phong organized 9 job fairs (5 direct fairs, 4 online fairs), attracting 165 businesses with a need to recruit nearly 29,000 workers. The exchange provided 21,900 people, meeting about 76% of demand, and at the same time provided job counseling and referrals to more than 2,600 people.
In the first 7 months of the year, 41 job fairs attracted 631 businesses, with a total recruitment demand of about 138,000 workers. The platform provides 84,575 people, meeting more than 61% of demand, and at the same time providing job counseling and referral for nearly 22,000 people.
These figures show that, although some labor sectors have decreased, the Hai Phong labor market is still vibrant, and at the same time reflect the efforts of authorities in connecting businesses with workers, contributing to promoting growth and stabilizing jobs in the area.
