Help dozens of worker couples get married
Ms. Son Thi Soc Vuong - a worker at PouYuen Vietnam Company - emotionally told that on November 15, she and her husband, Mr. Son Thanh Tung - a worker at Paiho Vietnam Company - will have their wedding organized by the Binh Tan District Labor Federation in a collective wedding ceremony of 20 couples who are workers in the district.
According to Ms. Vuong, who is from the same hometown in Soc Trang province, although she is a mother of 3 children, her desire to wear a wedding dress has not yet come true due to difficult circumstances. "I was really touched when I was informed that the Binh Tan District Labor Federation would organize my wedding and that I would be able to wear a wedding dress once in my life. I thank the Binh Tan District Labor Federation very much" - Ms. Vuong shared.
Ms. Tran Thi Hong Gam - Standing Committee Member, Head of the Women's Union of Binh Tan District Labor Federation - said that Binh Tan is a district with a large number of immigrant workers, many of whom are in difficult circumstances. Many couples have been together for many years and have children together, but have not yet had a wedding. There are also couples who have loved each other for a long time and longed to become husband and wife, but due to difficulties, they have not been able to have a wedding.
Faced with that reality, Ms. Gam advised the Binh Tan District Labor Union to organize a collective wedding for them.
The Binh Tan District Labor Federation coordinated to organize a collective wedding for 68 couples who are workers and employees in the district. In that collective wedding, the couples were given a pair of wedding rings, a banquet table to invite relatives to attend, and received gifts from many benefactors and the Trade Union at their workplace.
"Seeing the happy workers at their weddings makes us happy too, and that motivates us to work better and better for our union members and workers," Ms. Gam shared.
Advise on many regulations that benefit workers
