Happiness of female workers
Although it will officially open at 8 am, around 6:30 am, Ms. Le Thi Mong Thu (worker in Can Tho City) was present at the program "Workers' Health Day - for a healthy Vietnam 2026" organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with agencies and units. Due to difficult family circumstances, her husband is also a worker, for a long time, Ms. Thu did not dare to think about going for a preventive health check-up. For female workers, just because they are sick, they buy medicine to get through it, and then continue to work.
I am very happy to hear that I will have preventive examinations and reviews of diseases. Coming here, I will have blood drawn for testing, blood pressure measured and then advice on bone and joint pain diseases. I will also be given health care products if I unfortunately have a cough or flu," Ms. Thu said.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Nhien (Can Tho City) recounted that the specific nature of the garment industry makes many workers often suffer from respiratory and neck and shoulder diseases, which is also the reason why women pay less attention to other diseases, especially gynecology.
I am very excited because through a basic examination, the doctor said that my health is still maintained well. I was also guided on scientific living habits, and the correct sitting posture so as not to be affected later" - Ms. Thuy Nhien said.
According to Ms. Nhien, before, workers knew through the Trade Union organization thanks to gift programs on holidays and Tet, but did not think there would be an opportunity to receive comprehensive health care. Being specially cared for, Ms. Nhien shared that she is very proud to be a Trade Union member, who will diligently produce and actively participate in activities to build a strong organization.
Spreading the spirit of self-care
Workers are the greatest asset of businesses, the pioneering force directly creating material wealth for society. However, in reality, in Can Tho City in particular and the whole country in general, before the pressures of modern life, many brothers and sisters, for livelihood, because of difficult circumstances, forget to take care of themselves.
According to the organizers, the program not only brings the opportunity to provide free medical examinations, consultations and health care for workers, but also an opportunity to raise awareness about proactively protecting personal and family health.
Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour - informed that the festival aims to concretize the spirit of shifting the focus from treatment to prevention, comprehensive health care for workers and laborers in industrial parks. This gradually ensures that each worker has regular health check-ups, access to basic, fair and quality medical services, in accordance with the motto "prevention is key, grassroots is the foundation, people are the center".
On this occasion, the organizing committee also presented 100 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, affected by illnesses and work accidents. Along with that, the launching ceremony to register for tissue and organ donation with the theme "Giving love - extending life" was also responded to by many workers and laborers throughout Can Tho City.
“Giving tissues and organs is a priceless gift for life. I think this contributes to spreading a humane message, connecting loving hearts and adding hope to patients who need treatment” - female worker Le Thi Kim Ta (born in 1978, Can Tho City) said.
