Working at a business with about 9,000 employees, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Han (born in 1991) is jokingly called the "three-shoulder" by the collective when she simultaneously holds the role of Secretary of the Party Cell, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union and Head of the Welfare and Health Department. In the foreign-invested enterprise (FDI) environment, persuading to spend more on welfare policies outside of legal regulations has never been easy. However, Ms. Han has done it with the "secret" of turning pressure into an advantage to harmoniously connect benefits between businesses and employees.
According to Ms. Han, she innovates Trade Union activities in a professional, scientific and quantitative direction.
Imbued with Ho Chi Minh's ideology of taking workers as the center, Ms. Han promoted the application of information technology in welfare management and surveying workers' needs. One of the outstanding highlights is the "Online suggestion box" model through QR codes. Instead of traditional mailboxes that easily create a hesitant mentality, workers only need to scan the QR code on their phone to reflect issues related to lunch meals, working conditions or labor safety.
In the period 2023 - 2025, Ms. Han successfully implemented 10 innovation initiatives directly related to the actual needs of workers. Many initiatives focus on caring for female workers such as improving parking areas for pregnant workers, installing music systems in milk pumping rooms to create relaxation space for female workers after giving birth. In the field of safety and life, she implemented the model "Safe helmet station for workers"...
In particular, the "Improving to retain new workers" initiative has contributed to reducing the rate of personnel fluctuations - a difficult problem for many leather and footwear businesses today. From practical initiatives and companion thinking, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Han shows that in the FDI environment, the Trade Union organization is not only a support to protect workers' rights but can also become a strategic partner, contributing to building a humane and harmonious working environment between businesses and workers.
