Short propaganda messages
Chairman of the Trade Union of Sumitomo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) Tran Ngoc Tuan analyzed: Legal documents are often long, have many professional terms, and not every worker has time and conditions to study fully. If only implemented in the form of conferences or document transfers, information may not reach all workers.
Starting from this reality, the Trade Union of Sumitomo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) built the "Trade Union Relaxation Corner" associated with the "Trade Union Bookcase" with a new organization and operation method. In which, the central goal of the model is to bring laws to workers in a concise, easy-to-understand and easy-to-apply way.
Instead of just listing the entire long document, the Trade Union chooses issues that workers regularly care about to compile into short contents, such as: "Each shift is a message of safety", "What workers need to know", "Quick question - correct answer about regimes and policies", "Righties when participating in social insurance".
The content is presented in short news bulletins, images, graphics, Q&A questions or QR codes, placed in an easy-to-observe location in the "Trade Union Relaxation Corner". Through this form, workers can access information during their leave without affecting production activities. Propaganda is carried out regularly, with small but continuous content, helping workers easily remember and gradually form the habit of proactively learning about the law.
Here, "Trade Union Relaxation Corner" and "Trade Union Bookcase" are not simply arranging a rest area or a bookshelf, but actually become a place for workers to rest after stressful working hours, and especially this is a place for trade unions to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers...
Clarify the need for workers to access information
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi Labor Federation, the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress and the Resolution of the 18th Capital Trade Union Congress have identified specific targets, showing the determination to strongly innovate propaganda, education and improve the quality of the workforce. The requirements set for propaganda work are increasingly high. The legal system continues to be improved; labor relations are increasingly diverse; the digital transformation process is taking place strongly; workers have a need to access information quickly, accurately, easily understandably and have the ability to apply it immediately in practice.
The content of propaganda must be close to the issues that workers are concerned about; the implementation method must be flexible; information must be accurate, timely and oriented. Therefore, according to Ms. Thuy, it is necessary to clarify the need for access to legal information of union members and workers to propose solutions to promote the application of information technology, artificial intelligence and digital transformation in propaganda, consulting, support and legal interpretation.
Hanoi Trade Union levels are managing 3,370 legal bookshelves in workers' dormitories and more than 2,365 bookshelves at enterprises. The city currently has 75 Worker Cultural Activities Points, 254 Trade Union Relaxation Corners; in the first 6 months of the year, 10 more Trade Union Relaxation Corners were established.
