According to initial information, at 10:10 PM on July 24, Binh Thanh Border Guard Station received a report from Ms. Bui Thi Suong, residing in My Tan village, Binh Son commune about fishing vessel QNg-95267-TS being injured at sea.
Fishing vessel QNg-95267-TS is 20.6m long, with a capacity of 525CV, fishing, departing from port on June 4, with 36 fishermen on board, owned and captained by Mr. Tran Van Dan (58 years old); exploiting seafood in the Truong Sa sea area.
At about 8 am on July 24, while operating at position 08°24'51" North latitude, 112°02'05" East longitude, fishing vessel QNg-95267-TS lost the signal connecting the journey monitoring device.According to family information, during the process of moving to Truong Sa Lon island to avoid bad weather, the vessel encountered a strong thunderstorm, broke water and sank.
After the incident, fishing vessel QNg-95555-TS, owned by Mr. Nguyen Huu Loc (53 Currently, vessel QNg-95555-TS is taking the rescued fishermen to Truong Sa Lon island to avoid wind and ensure safety, and at the same time continue to coordinate the search for missing fishermen.Immediately after receiving the information, the Border Guard Command of Quang Ngai province directed Binh Thanh Border Guard Station to coordinate with the ship owner's family and local authorities to monitor and grasp the situation; notify fishing vessels operating near the accident area to participate in search assistance.
