As one of the first localities in Hai Phong to implement the green house model, the Women's Women's Union has replicated the model in many residential groups. Ms. Vu Thanh Xuan - Chairman of the Association 8 said that the model is not only an environmental protection initiative but also brings many practical benefits to the people. Here, people join hands to classify waste, scrap will be brought to the "green house" and then the amount of waste sold will be put into the fund to serve social security for families in difficult circumstances in the area and waste collection costs.
Since its launch in early 2022 with the participation of 50 members, after more than 1 year, the model has 1,200 members and about 200 households actively participating, expanding in many alleys and hamlets. Every year, the "Green House" fund gives dozens of gifts to members in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 200,000 VND.
Similarly, in Dong Tien residential group, Bang La ward, Do Son district, the "Green House" model was launched in 2023. After 2 years, the Green House Fund of the Women's Union of the residential group collected 75.5 million VND, giving 216 gifts to women and children in difficult circumstances, contributing to the locality in doing a good job of social security.
With a clear effect, the green house model is applied by many localities throughout the city. At the end of March, the Women's Union of Duong Kinh District launched "Green House, Sharing Love" at Tieu Tra residential group, Hung Dao ward. Not only cadres, members and local people enthusiastically participate, collect cans, covers and scrap paper. In May 525, the Women's Women's Union organized 48 funds to raise funds, awarded 8 health insurance cards and presented 20 gifts with a total value of nearly 12 million dong to difficult women members in the ward. Chairman of Hung Dao Ward Women's Union Nguyen Thi Phuong said that the model contributes to the formation of garbage classification habits at the source, reducing the amount of waste into the environment. At the same time, promoting the spirit of solidarity in the community, creating a fund to help members and children in difficult circumstances.
Green House is a scrap collection model launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union. The green house was built with a steel frame with a corrugated iron roof, wrapped in a net around it to contain scrap (asphalt, water cans, cardboard...) and was placed in a convenient location for women's union members and people to classify. According to the Hai Phong City Women's Union, currently, the city's Women's Union at all levels maintains and effectively promotes 359 women's groups to collect waste and 297 environmental protection models. Cleaning activities on village roads and alleys have also been maintained regularly by Associations at all levels, with more than 2,000 members participating from the beginning of 2025 to present.
Here, associations at all levels continue to replicate and effectively promote creative models and approaches on environmental protection, contributing to gradually shaping a green, civilized and friendly lifestyle among cadres and women's union members throughout the city as well as the community.
