On the morning of August 21, Working Group No. 5 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor led by Vice President Huynh Thanh Xuan had a working session with the Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee on the development of union members and the establishment of Communist unions in 2024.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan said that implementing the plan to organize a working program with local party committees on the development of union members, establishing the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2024, the working group of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Would like to have specific information from the local area.
From there, there is a comprehensive and objective assessment of the leadership and direction of the local Party Committee, the results of implementation in the work of developing union members and establishing Communist Unions in the first 6 months of 2024.
At the same time, there are solutions and measures for leadership to direct and organize implementation in the coming time to contribute to the successful implementation of union member development targets in the spirit of Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW dated June 12. 2021 of the Politburo on "innovating the organization and activities of Vietnam's trade unions in the new situation".
As of July 2024, the entire Phu Yen province has 55,611 workers, officials, and laborers (CNVCLD), of which the Phu Yen Provincial Labor Confederation is directly managing 924 Communist Unions with 45,316 union members.
In 2024, Phu Yen is assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to actually increase 5,250 union members, of which 250 union members are in the informal sector, establishing 50 new grassroots unions, of which 3 grassroots unions are in the informal sector.
In the first 6 months of the year, Phu Yen trade unions at all levels have developed 1,624 new union members and established 7 Communist unions. Through the survey, understanding the situation in the province, there are still 6,609 workers working at 1,058 enterprises that have not yet established a trade union.
Of these, there are 41 enterprises with 25 or more employees, 124 enterprises with 10 to 25 employees, 224 enterprises with 5 to 10 employees, and 669 enterprises with less than 5 employees. operating in the form of households and trading, it is very difficult to mobilize union members and establish grassroots unions.
Noting Phu Yen's current difficulties and obstacles in building a force of union members, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan proposed that Trade Unions at all levels have solutions targeting the informal sector to develop union members and become successful. set up the CSCS.
