At the Artificial Kidney Unit - Hospital 199 of the Ministry of Public Security, there are currently 40 patients. Most of them have to undergo long-term, expensive treatment, and have to undergo dialysis to maintain their lives. Loss of ability to work and poor health have caused the patients to fall into poverty.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the 199 Hospital Trade Union coordinated with the Vinamilk Company Trade Union - Da Nang Branch to present 40 gifts (including cash and gifts) to patients being treated at the Artificial Kidney Unit before the New Year.
Ms. Le Thi Thuy Nga, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Vinamilk Company - Da Nang Branch, said: "The Lunar New Year is approaching, the Company's Trade Union has small gifts to send to the uncles and aunts who are undergoing dialysis at Hospital 199. The gift is not big but carries a big heart from the unit, hoping that everyone will always be optimistic in treatment so that their health will be better and better".
Emotional and choked up, patient Phan Thi Lan (73 years old) said: “Since the day I was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure, my life has been almost tied to the hospital. Sometimes I feel like a burden to my family. Thanks to the kindness of the Union and the benefactors, I and the dialysis patients here feel comforted and encouraged to continue fighting the disease and move forward in life.”
Tet is coming, while many patients can return home to celebrate the new year with their families, patients on dialysis still have to maintain 3 dialysis sessions/week, still have to be friends with machines, filters... making them feel sad and depressed.
Therefore, the program "Warm and Loving Tet" that the Union of Hospital 199 organized and called on benefactors to support poor patients as a spiritual gift, as well as additional expenses to help patients feel secure in their treatment when Tet is approaching.
