On September 20, the Golden Heart Charity Fund in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Phu Quoi commune and philanthropists presented 30 Mid-Autumn gifts to children of workers in difficult circumstances and disabilities.
Each gift is worth about 400,000 VND, given directly to the children, many of which are delivered to the dormitories where workers live. The activity contributes to bringing joy and encouraging children to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival more fully.
Tran Toan Thang (born in 2017), living in a boarding house in Phu Quoi commune, said that his family is in difficult circumstances. His father works as a worker in Hoa Phu Industrial Park, his mother and he sell lottery tickets to cover living expenses.
My family does not have land, so we have to live in a rented house. I am very happy to receive Mid-Autumn Festival gifts. I dream of going to school, studying like my friends and having a job to help my parents later," Thang shared.
Mr. Vo Phuoc Hoa - representative of Pho Xua Cuisine and Bien Tay Seafood - said that the unit has supported 20 million VND through the Golden Heart Charity Social Fund to give Mid-Autumn gifts to disadvantaged children in 2 communes Phu Quoi and An Binh.
According to Mr. Hoa, through this activity, the unit wishes to share difficulties with workers' families, bringing joy to children during the Mid-Autumn Festival. In the coming time, the unit will continue to coordinate with the Golden Heart Charity Fund to implement social security activities in Vinh Long province.
It is known that this Mid-Autumn Festival, Phu Quoi commune plans to give about 5,000 gifts to children in difficult circumstances. Among them, children of workers account for about 70%, concentrated in boarding houses and areas with many workers.
