Screening drug users from grassroots levels
Binh Son commune currently has more than 400 boarding houses with about 5,000 migrant workers temporarily residing. This is an area with a large concentration of workers working at enterprises, posing many risks of crime and drug evils if not strictly managed.
Through review, the Police force inspected 368 cases, detecting 31 cases positive for drugs.
Lieutenant Colonel Doan Vu Trung Viet - Deputy Head of Binh Son Commune Police - said that Binh Son Commune Police are currently managing 87 people who illegally use drugs, 7 people after detoxification and 3 people undergoing replacement drug treatment.

From July 1, 2025 to now, the locality has prepared dossiers to send 35 cases for compulsory detoxification. In the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control in 2026 alone, the Police force has reviewed and inspected more than 200 boarding houses, contributing to proactively screening, detecting illegal drug users and strengthening local management.
Businesses coordinate drug inspection
At Thanh Do Mechanical Co., Ltd., Binh Son Commune Police organized drug testing for more than 50 workers and all had negative results.
The activities are deployed publicly, objectively, unexpectedly and in accordance with the law. Workers all strictly comply with the requirements of functional forces.

As a worker of Thanh Do Mechanical Co., Ltd., Mr. Pham Van Dong said that the inspection is necessary. According to him, this is not only the responsibility of each worker in complying with the regulations of the enterprise but also contributes to building a safe and healthy working environment.
In parallel with management work, Binh Son Commune Police also promoted the fight against drug crimes. In the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control in 2026, the unit discovered and handled 2 drug-related cases.
Typically, the case of arresting 2 subjects for organizing the illegal use of narcotics in My Tan village on May 30. The timely detection and handling of cases has contributed to preventing the risk of forming complex drug hotspots in the area.
The combination of prevention, management and combat against drug crime is identified by Binh Son Commune Police as a long-term solution to maintain a safe area, creating a stable environment for people and businesses to feel secure in living, working, and producing.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Doan Vu Trung Viet, after the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control, Binh Son Commune Police will continue to advise the Party Committee and the Commune People's Committee to strengthen leadership and direction of drug prevention and control work.
At the same time, the unit will maintain coordination with businesses to organize periodic and unscheduled inspections of workers; tighten management in residential areas, boarding houses and high-risk groups to promptly detect and manage illegal drug users right from the grassroots level.
