Focus on removing site obstacles
On September 8, the working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor had a working session with the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province on the implementation of the Trade Union Social Housing project in Quang Ngai province.
Attending the working session were Mr. Le Van Nghia - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

According to Mr. Bui Van Cu - Deputy Director of Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Construction, the Trade Union Social Housing project in Tinh Phong commune is invested by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, with an area of 1.47ha, arranging 603 units (including 2 9-story apartment buildings, 343 units and 1 12-story apartment building, 260 units), with a total investment of more than 597 billion VND.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is organizing bidding to select contractors and is expected to start construction of the Quang Ngai Provincial Trade Union Social Housing project in late September 2026 or early October 2026.
According to a report by the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, on the social housing project site of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, there are still 2 projects that need to be relocated, including the 22kV medium-voltage power line managed by Quang Ngai Power Company as the managing unit and the B8-3-3 irrigation canal managed by Quang Ngai Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company. The relocation time of the above 2 projects is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Urgently remove bottlenecks
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee - assigned the Department of Construction to be the focal agency, regularly coordinating with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to monitor progress, promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to resolve difficulties and obstacles under its authority; issues beyond its authority must be promptly reported to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee for coordination and removal.

Regarding compensation and site clearance for the remaining rice land area, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang requested the Land Fund Development Center to urgently deploy and strive to complete it in October 2026.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with the General Confederation to agree on a specific commencement time, suitable to the actual conditions and project implementation progress; organize a practical and meaningful commencement ceremony, thereby affirming the determination to implement the project and creating conditions for workers to soon access social housing and stabilize their lives.
The Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and related units to proactively coordinate and perform well the assigned tasks. In the process of implementation, if difficulties and obstacles arise, they must promptly exchange and report to focus on removing them, ensuring project progress. At the same time, Quang Ngai province will closely coordinate with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to ensure the construction of the project is carried out on schedule.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Le Van Nghia - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - highly appreciated the concern of Quang Ngai provincial leaders for the material and spiritual life of workers and laborers, reflected in the investment in building cultural and sports facilities in industrial parks. At the same time, he wished the province to continue to pay attention to and coordinate in solving difficulties and obstacles, creating conditions for the Trade Union Social Housing project to be implemented on schedule.
