The project creates jobs for about 50,000 workers
On the morning of March 12, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the ceremony and performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Project. VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1664 dated December 22, 2023. The project is located in Dung Quat Economic Zone with a total area of 498 hectares, with a total investment of nearly VND 3,800 billion. This is a pioneering Industrial Park project after the Prime Minister approved the overall adjustment of the General Planning for the construction of Dung Quat Economic Zone until 2045.
The project aims to develop industrial parks associated with green growth and sustainable development, continue to attract investors in the fields of application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in production and business activities such as electricity - electronics, precision mechanics, food processing, textiles, medical equipment, interior and other supporting industries. It is expected that after completion, VSIP II Quang Ngai will create jobs for about 50,000 workers.
Continuing to care for workers' lives
Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged the efforts of local authorities at all levels; the great sharing of people in the project area, and highly appreciated the contributions of domestic and foreign investment enterprises, especially Singaporean enterprises in Vietnam.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister requested businesses to continue to implement well the policies and regimes, care for the lives of workers, coordinate with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to build convenient housing areas for workers; accompany localities in social security and sustainable development, for the benefit of businesses and investors with the spirit of harmonious benefits, shared risks...
The Vietnamese Government affirms that it will continue to stabilize the investment environment, promote administrative procedure reform, improve the legal system to create an open and healthy investment environment, continue to create favorable conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises in general and Singaporean enterprises in particular to invest and do business in Vietnam, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
In order for the project to be implemented on schedule and achieve the expected results, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister requested Sembcorp Group (Singapore) and Becamex (Vietnam) to continue to effectively promote the model of industrial parks, urban areas and services; direct investment and development of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park towards a smart, modern and sustainable industrial park.
Ministries and branches actively guide investors in procedures on investment, construction, environment and proactively conduct inspection and supervision work, supporting investors to promptly resolve difficulties and problems in the process of project implementation.
The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province directed relevant units to urgently and actively support VSIP Quang Ngai in completing procedures for investment preparation and compensation for site clearance and resettlement according to regulations, ensuring that people subject to resettlement have suitable new housing, better than the old housing, ensuring rights and livelihoods for people in the project area, and planning land allocation to build houses for workers.
At the ceremony, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and provincial leaders presented certificates and investment memorandums to investors of VSIP II Quang Ngai.
