Having a trade union immediately after coming into operation
The Trade Union of Maosen Vietnam Stationery Co., Ltd. was established right before the 1st City Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030. Maosen Office Vietnam Co., Ltd. is a 100% Chinese-invested enterprise, specializing in the production of spring rolls, hard copy books and other notebooks. The company is located in the duty-free area and Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, and has been in stable operation since October 2025 with 100 employees. Thanks to the propaganda sessions about the role of the Trade Union organization, 100% of workers want to join the organization.
Present at the ceremony to announce the decision to establish the grassroots trade union, Mr. Xiong ZiXian - Deputy Director of the company - emphasized that the company's Board of Directors always identifies employees as the most valuable asset. Therefore, the company is committed to supporting and creating favorable conditions for the Trade Union to operate in accordance with its functions and tasks. At the same time, always listen to and respect the voices of the Trade Union and employees, coordinate to promptly resolve recommendations, build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Recently, the ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Trade Union of Global material Handling Company Limited (DepC 2A industrial park) took place amid the excitement of not only 348 union members but also the company's board of directors.
According to the union representative, since the company came into operation, the collective of employees had a desire to have a union organization to represent and protect their legitimate and legal rights and interests. The Board of Directors also considers the Trade Union a trusted partner for dialogue, listening, and building harmonious and stable labor relations, so they also want to establish a grassroots trade union to jointly realize the company's strategic vision. To date, the company has developed 142 more employees compared to the time of propaganda and development of union members.
After the merger, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation managed 2,840 grassroots unions, with a total of 641,625 workers and 615,955 union members, achieving an coverage rate of more than 96.3%. The high rate of union members shows the trust and attachment of employees to the union organization.
Striving to welcome 30,000 union members each year
According to the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, in the past term, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions has been promoted, achieving many outstanding results. The City Labor Federation will organize working sessions with the Standing Committees of districts, Party committees and equivalents (before July 1, 2025) to strengthen direction in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions. At the same time, it is required that the trade union at the grassroots level proactively review enterprises, develop plans and mobilize the establishment of grassroots trade unions.
As a result of the 2023-2025 period, the whole city established 660 new grassroots unions, developing 193,635 union members, actually increasing by 93,595 union members. This is an impressive number, contributing to making Hai Phong one of the leading localities in the country, awarded the Emulation Flag for Excellence in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions in 2024 by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
For the 2025-2030 term, all levels of the Trade Union focus on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in key areas and fields. Along with that, innovate approaches, increase surveys, grasp the labor situation in enterprises without trade unions; proactively work, dialogue, and mobilize employers and employees to establish grassroots trade unions.
In the coming time, trade unions at all levels will continue to closely coordinate with State management agencies, Management Boards of industrial parks, economic zones, local authorities and business associations in propagating, providing legal support, and guiding procedures for establishing trade unions. On the other hand, applying digital technology and general databases to manage and monitor progress, ensuring that each year it develops from 12,000 - 15,000 union members, establishing 80-100 new grassroots unions, striving to reach 80,000-100,000 union members and 400 - 450 grassroots unions for the entire term.
