Dong Thap - Many unskilled workers can earn 40 million VND/month when participating in seasonal work in the agricultural sector in Korea.

On September 14, Mr. Nguyen Phu Hieu - Director of Dong Thap Employment Service Center - said that according to the program implemented on the basis of cooperation between Dong Thap province and localities of Korea, in 2027, the number of workers recruited to work seasonally in Korea will increase. In which, focus on recruiting workers to do the work of planting, caring for and harvesting agricultural products, with a contract term of 5-8 months. The expected income level is from 32-40 million VND/month. Thus, on average, after deducting living expenses, workers can accumulate about 150-250 million VND for a crop season, depending on the job and actual conditions.

It is known that in 2026, the program has sent 769 Dong Thap workers to Korea to work seasonally, thereby creating an additional channel of employment with relatively high income for rural workers. According to Mr. Hieu, this labor recruitment program is implemented in a non-profit direction and does not go through intermediaries. Therefore, when participating, workers do not have to pay brokerage fees. However, expenses for exit such as passport issuance, visa application, health check, air ticket purchase and completion of procedures are self-paid by workers. The total estimated cost is about 25-30 million VND/person.

To reduce financial pressure, employed workers are supported with unsecured loans of up to 25 million VND/person. In addition, the province supports up to 7.53 million VND/worker according to actual costs and current policies. Before leaving the country, workers are trained in Korean and orientation education in Dong Thap to prepare necessary knowledge and skills before working in Korea.

The special highlight of the program is recruiting both male and female workers aged 25-45 years old, with education from grade 6 or higher and permanent residence in Dong Thap province. Registered people must have appropriate health, not suffer from infectious diseases, not be color blind; have good discipline and ethics, no criminal record and have never resided or worked illegally in Korea. Those in need, register at Dong Thap Employment Service Center, No. 4 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Thuan Phat Quarter, Cao Lanh Ward and Headquarters at No. 4 Pham Hung Street, Trung An Ward, Dong Thap Province.
