On the afternoon of August 28, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) - received the delegation of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) led by Mr. Kim Tai-gi - Chairman of NLRC.
During the working trip to Vietnam, the delegation of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) visited and worked with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
At the meeting, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that Vietnam is celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). This is an important milestone for Vietnam to look back on the heroic revolution of the Vietnamese people, towards a new era of development, and at the same time thank and appreciate the support and contributions of the international community, including South Korea, in Vietnam's socio-economic development.
Some issues discussed at the meeting included experience in building labor relations; protecting workers' rights; training of mediation consultants; training workers...
According to Mr. Kim Tai-gi, new NLRC has been assigned the additional task of protecting foreign workers, including Vietnamese workers. With the relationship at the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, the number of Korean enterprises in Vietnam and the number of Vietnamese workers in Korea are currently increasing.
Therefore, Mr. Kim Tai-gi hopes that the Vietnam Fatherland Front will support Korean enterprises in their work in Vietnam, especially when many Korean enterprises are organizing training for Vietnamese workers at high levels.

Since the establishment of the relationship in 1993, the bilateral cooperative relationship between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Korea Trade Union Federation (FKTU) has continuously developed and become increasingly effective and practical. Currently, there are 8 industry unions and 12 local labor unions under the Vietnam Trade Union with cooperative relationships and delegation exchanges with the Trade Union Federations of provinces and cities in Korea.
The multifaceted friendly cooperation between the two trade unions has been effectively implemented in many areas in recent times: Annual exchanges of high-level delegations, cooperation in exchanging information and experience in the fields of protection of the rights of young workers, older workers, female workers, gender equality and forced labor, promoting positive policies to create jobs and combat unemployment, promoting social insurance, social security, labor laws, raising minimum wages, occupational safety and hygiene and the environment.
On this occasion, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that NLRC and relevant Korean agencies work closely to promote a number of contents.
In particular, continuing to increase the number of Vietnamese labor admission quotas under the Employment Service Program (EPS), workers in the shipbuilding, agricultural, aquatic and fishery industries and expanding new industries that Korea has a need for; increasing the number of successful candidates in Korean language exams; strengthening measures to ensure that workers leave the country to work in Korea through organizations and units with Vietnamese functions and are licensed by competent authorities in Vietnam.
Strengthen coordination, exchange, and information sharing with Vietnamese authorities to create a favorable, safe, friendly, and harmonious environment for Vietnamese workers in Korea; ensure that workers enjoy their legitimate benefits, work with peace of mind, and comply with local laws, thereby minimizing violations of the law in Korea...
The Vietnam Fatherland Front is a political alliance, including the Trade Union organization. Therefore, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang also expressed his hope that in the coming time, NLRC and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as well as the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with Korean Trade Unions will have practical and effective cooperation activities to contribute more to the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea.
