Increasing regional minimum wages will be a motivation for workers to continue to contribute

Hanoi - The 7.2% increase in regional minimum wage from January 1, 2026 is expected to be a spiritual boost for workers to feel secure in sticking with and continuing to contribute to the enterprise.

Information about the National Wage Council proposing to increase the regional minimum wage by 7.2% from January 1, 2026 has been shared by many workers as well as the team of union officials.

From the perspective of a long-time grassroots union official, always close to the living and working situation; grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Meiko Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. - affirmed that this increase will be the motivation for workers to continue to contribute.

Mr. Hai analyzed that the proposed increase of 7.2% of regional minimum wage from January 1, 2026, equivalent to an increase of 250,000 - 350,000 VND depending on the area, will help encourage workers because they see practical interest.

This is because in the context of increasing inflation, adjusting the regional minimum wage means increasing the income of workers. No matter how little or much, it will help workers have an extra amount to contribute to their living expenses.

For enterprises that are doing well in production and business, caring about the lives of workers - the assets of enterprises - the increase in regional minimum wage will not have an impact. Because in reality, there are enterprises that have paid salaries higher than the regional minimum wage according to regulations.

The unification of the proposed salary increase for the sub-regional level from January 1, 2026 demonstrates the spirit of sharing between the Trade Union organization and enterprises, thereby creating motivation for workers to work with an exciting spirit, working together to achieve the growth target by the end of this year.
