Regarding dozens of workers and laborers at Dien Bien Cassava Starch Processing Factory (belonging to DPP Tay Bac Company Limited in Na Huom village, Na Tong commune, Dien Bien district - now Na Huom village, Nuat Ngam commune, Dien Bien province) - who have been owed wages for many months, on July 11, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nuat Ngam commune - said that the commune government understands the difficulties and frustrations of workers when the company did not fulfill its commitment to pay wages before June 30, 2025.
According to Mr. Trung, the newly established Nu Ngam commune was based on the merger of 3 communes of Nu Ngam, Na Tong and He Muong, officially coming into operation from July 1. Meanwhile, the unpaid wages at the cassava starch processing factory (located in Na Huom village, in the old Na Tong commune) had existed before and were under the authority of the People's Committee of Dien Bien district (old).
"When establishing the new commune government, the commune immediately grasped the information through the reflection of the people. However, due to the work of arranging facilities and stabilizing the organization to serve the people, especially prioritizing the operation of the Public Administration Service Center, there has not been an official working session with the company" - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nu Ngam commune said.

Mr. Trung also affirmed that Nu Ngam commune will coordinate with functional agencies such as the Department of Home Affairs, the Provincial Labor Federation... to verify the situation and promote resolution with the view of putting the legitimate rights of workers first.
About a week ago, the commune had a phone conversation with a representative of DPP Tay Bac Company Limited, the company promised to mobilize resources to solve the problem for workers in July 2025 - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nu Ngam commune said.
The leader of Nu Ngam commune also emphasized that in case the company continues to break its promise by the end of July, the commune will have more specific and stronger measures to coordinate and require the company to fulfill its committed obligations. At the same time, it is recommended that superiors provide legal support to employees if necessary, ensuring their rights in accordance with legal regulations.

Previously, on June 13, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article reflecting " ki ki su su tich, dozens of workers stretch banners to collect debts". Accordingly, after many months of unpaid wages, the director of the cassava starch processing factory "disappeared", dozens of workers and laborerseted banners to collect debts.
According to the investigation, dozens of workers and laborers at Dien Bien Cassava Starch Processing Factory said that they have been owed wages for many months, and all efforts to contact the director have been in vain.

According to the proposal of the collective of workers working at Dien Bien Cassava Starch Processing Factory, from February 6 to March 13, 2025, the workers have completed the assigned work. However, Mr. Ta Hong Diep - Director of DPP Tay Bac Company Limited - has not yet paid more than 530 million VND in salary as agreed.
Not only owed workers' salaries, a group of 13 other individuals also submitted a petition to the authorities of Na Tong commune (old) about the DPP Tay Bac Company Limited not yet paying about 600 million VND. Of which, 300 million VND is spent on land leveling, building a cassava factory and about 300 million VND is spent on buying fresh cassava from the people.
Although he committed to paying wages to workers and laborers before June 30, the Director of DPP Tay Bac Company Limited once again took a turn for the worse.
