Wishing Tet from simple things
In the last days of the year, the working atmosphere at Dong Pho Moi and Tang Loong industrial parks is still bustling with machine sounds. Interspersed with the bustling production pace is the excitement clearly visible on the faces of many workers as Tet Nguyen Dan is approaching very closely.
For them, this time is not only a sprint to complete the annual plan but also a time to look forward to care and sharing programs from the Trade Union organization.
At the production workshop of a business in Dong Pho Moi Industrial Park, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (assembly worker) took advantage of her lunch break to share: “We workers all look forward to the end of the year. Not only because we have Tet holidays but also because of the concern of the Trade Union, from Tet gifts to spiritual encouragement activities”.
According to Ms. Hanh, for workers far from home, that care is even more meaningful, helping to alleviate homesickness and year-end spending pressure.
Records at many businesses in Dong Pho Moi and Tang Loong Industrial Parks show that although the year-end work is quite busy, workers' moods are still cheerful. The story of bonuses, Tet gifts, bus tickets home... has become a familiar topic during breaks.
Mr. Ly Van Tien (machine operator at Tang Loong Industrial Park) said: "Being a worker with low income, every Tet gift or support from the Trade Union is very precious. Not great material value, but the feeling of being cared for, not being left behind.
According to Mr. Tien, for many years, the Tet Sum vay program has become a familiar rendezvous for workers in industrial parks. Activities such as giving gifts, cultural exchanges, lucky draws... bring a warm atmosphere, helping workers have more motivation to stick with the business.
Not only workers, many grassroots trade union officials are also busy preparing for Tet care activities. From reviewing the list of union members in difficult circumstances, working far from home, to coordinating with businesses to arrange time and location to organize programs appropriately.
Joining hands so that no one is left behind
According to the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, during this Lunar New Year, trade union levels in the province have proactively developed plans to care for union members and workers from an early stage. The focus is the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" with many practical activities, towards grassroots levels.
It is known that the Trade Union Committee of industrial parks and economic zones of Lao Cai province will coordinate to mobilize more than 700 million VND to organize Tet programs and give gifts to union members and workers working in industrial parks and grassroots trade unions in the former Lao Cai province.
This funding is used to directly support workers in difficult circumstances, workers affected by production fluctuations, as well as organize cultural and spiritual activities at the end of the year.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Tuan Hai - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Lao Cai province - said that the biggest goal of the program is to ensure that all union members and workers have Tet, and no one is left behind.
We determine that taking care of Tet for workers is not only a responsibility but also a feeling. Through these activities, the Trade Union organization wants to send a message that workers are always accompanied and shared," Mr. Hai emphasized.
At many businesses, grassroots trade unions also proactively coordinate with employers to organize care activities suitable to actual conditions. As the production pace gradually closes a year of many efforts, the Tet Sum vay program continues to be a solid spiritual support for workers in Lao Cai Industrial Parks.
From that concern, the trust and attachment of workers to businesses and the Trade Union organization is further fostered, to enter the new year with more hope and a better start.
