On the afternoon of November 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held a conference to review 10 years (2015 - 2024) of implementing the "Tet Sum Vay" program.
The conference report said that by February 2024, there were 186,944 "Tet Sum Vay" programs organized at all levels of trade unions, attracting over 33 million union members and workers to participate. At the programs, gifts were given to over 26.2 million union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of over VND 10,617 billion, of which nearly VND 5,847 billion was mobilized from socialized sources (accounting for 55%).
Up to now, the program "Tet Sum Vay" has become an annual event and "brand" of the trade union organization every time Tet comes, creating a widespread effect in all levels of trade unions and the whole society, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
However, the “Tet Sum Vay” program still has some shortcomings and limitations such as: Some places have not proactively directed and implemented the program, so the activities to care for union members are still slow. The “Tet Sum Vay” program is not organized evenly between regions and between union levels.
There are places where the program cannot be organized due to geographical, socio-economic conditions, difficult travel, too few union members, workers...
Many opinions at the conference suggested sharing experiences in implementing the "Tet Sum Vay" program among localities to enrich the program's activities; Supporting more resources to organize the program for localities and sectors, especially those in remote areas, remote areas, with few union members and workers, difficult travel, and unfavorable socio-economic conditions; increasing the value of gifts for union members and workers in the "Tet Sum Vay" program.
