Practical care for workers
On May 8, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Labor Federation (LĐLĐ), the Provincial Red Cross Society to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; Workers' Month and Humanitarian Month 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen said that the organization of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, Workers' Month and Humanitarian Month is of practical significance in the current context.

According to Mr. Nguyen, the activities not only contribute to raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, businesses and workers about labor safety work but also show concern and care for the material and spiritual lives of workers and laborers.
Humanitarian Month is not only a peak period of resource mobilization but also a journey to spread the spirit of mutual affection, promoting the tradition of "Healthy leaves protect torn leaves" of the Vietnamese nation," Mr. Huynh Chi Nguyen emphasized.

At the launching ceremony, provincial leaders requested all levels, sectors, and businesses to focus on synchronously implementing many solutions to ensure labor safety and hygiene at the workplace.
In which, the Department of Home Affairs is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Labor Federation and related units to strengthen guidance, training, and training on labor safety; considering this as a key task associated with local socio-economic development.

Units are also required to promote labor law propaganda in a way that is easy to understand and suitable for each target group; pay attention to preventing labor accidents and occupational diseases in high-risk industries such as construction, mechanics, and electricity.
Leaders of Ca Mau province also requested to strengthen inspection and examination of the implementation of regulations on occupational safety and health; promptly rectify and strictly handle violations.
Housing support, giving hundreds of gifts to workers
Within the framework of the program, the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation implemented many activities to care for union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
According to the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation, for many years, the trade union organization has supported the construction and repair of more than 100 houses for union members in housing difficulties with a total budget of billions of VND, contributing to helping workers feel secure in working and production.

On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation presented a symbolic plaque supporting the construction and repair of 9 "Trade Union Shelter" houses for union members facing housing difficulties. Among them, there are 4 newly built houses with a support level of 50 million VND/house and 5 renovated houses with a support level of 25 million VND/house, with a total support cost of 325 million VND.
In addition to housing support, in this year's Workers' Month, the Provincial Labor Federation also supported 800 union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total budget of 800 million VND.
At the launching ceremony, the organizers directly presented 400 gifts, each worth 1 million VND in cash, to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances. The remaining gifts will be directly delivered to businesses and production facilities by delegations of the Provincial Labor Federation to visit and give directly to workers.

Responding to the 2026 Humanitarian Month, the Ca Mau Provincial Red Cross Society also presented gifts to 50 poor households in Hoa Thanh ward. Each gift includes 2 million VND in cash and gifts worth 500,000 VND. At the ceremony, representatives of 30 households received gifts directly, and the remaining cases will be delivered to their homes due to difficult travel conditions.

Representing the business community, Mr. Phan Van Tam - Deputy Director of Minh Phu Ca Mau Seafood Group JSC - committed to effectively implementing activities to respond to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health and the Workers' Month 2026 at enterprises.
Meanwhile, Ms. Huynh Ngoc Trang - a union member of the Trade Union of Ca Mau Urban Environment Joint Stock Company - shared her wish that levels and sectors continue to pay more attention to union members and workers in difficult circumstances so that they have stable jobs, increase income and improve their lives.
On this occasion, the Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee also decided to award certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 9 individuals with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and health in 2025.
