Over the past time, the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union has promoted propaganda and mobilized business households, small traders and workers in the field of trade and services at the market to participate in trade union organizations. Through mobilization, 82 workers voluntarily wrote applications to join the Vietnam Trade Union.
On May 7, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation announced the decision to admit 82 trade union members; established the Lao Cai Ward Trade and Service Grassroots Trade Union; and appointed the interim Executive Committee of the trade union.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation acknowledged and praised the efforts of the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions.
The establishment of the Trade Union of Trade and Service of Lao Cai Ward Market is of great significance in gathering and uniting informal sector workers; creating conditions for union members to participate in care and support activities of the trade union organization.
At the same time, this is also a step contributing to building a civilized, stable and developed business environment in the locality.
Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation requested the Executive Committee of the Trade Union to soon develop operating regulations, proactively grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members; coordinate with the government and functional agencies to effectively implement emulation movements and activities to care for the material and spiritual life of workers.
