On July 25, the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union said that it had just organized the announcement of the decision to establish and launch the Self-managed Workers' Group of Vinh Dai hamlet boarding house area, Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city.
This is a model that the Da Nang City Labor Federation has deployed and replicated to innovate methods of gathering, mobilizing and caring for workers and laborers.
According to the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union, Vinh Dai village concentrates many workers renting rooms to work at enterprises. Due to the specific nature of working in shifts and frequently changing places of residence, propaganda of laws, conveying social security policies and grasping the thoughts of workers still face many difficulties.
From that reality, the Commune Trade Union has coordinated with the government, Police, Village People's Committee and landlords to establish Self-managed Workers' Groups. The operating model is based on the spirit of voluntariness and self-management, being a bridge between workers and the Trade Union organization and local authorities.
At the ceremony, the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union announced the decision to establish the Steering Committee of the Self-managed Workers Group of Vinh Dai hamlet boarding house, assigning Mr. Le Viet Tho as Head of the Steering Committee.
According to operating regulations, the Executive Board has the task of grasping the lives, jobs and thoughts of workers; coordinating to solve difficulties and obstacles; mobilizing workers to comply with regulations on residence, fire prevention and fighting, environmental protection and maintaining security and order in the boarding house area.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Phuc - Chairwoman of the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union - requested the Executive Committee to maintain practical activities, suitable to the living conditions of workers, and at the same time proactively connect with the Trade Union organization, government and police forces to promptly support workers.
On this occasion, the Da Nang City Labor Federation presented the Executive Board with a set of mobile speakers to serve propaganda and support 10 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND for workers in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of 5 million VND.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, Nui Thanh Commune Police organized propaganda on laws on residence management, security and order, and fire prevention and fighting for workers living in boarding houses.
According to the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union, the model will continue to be consolidated, completed and replicated in areas with a large number of workers renting rooms, contributing to building a safe, united living environment and strengthening the connection between workers and the Trade Union organization.
