The Hai Van Ward Labor Union, Da Nang has just held a conference to establish the Xuan Thieu 1 Residential Area Self-management Workers' Group. This is the first unit to launch a self-management team after the arrangement of the administration and trade union apparatus. The self-managed workers' group of Xuan Thieu 1 residential area has 10 members of the executive board and 220 workers residing there.
Mr. Le Van Dai, Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, praised the efforts of the Hai Van Ward Labor Union. Mr. Dai emphasized that this model is "Skilled Mass Mobilization" which has been praised and proposed for replication by the Da Nang City Party Committee.
The Da Nang City Labor Federation currently manages 71 groups with more than 11,200 workers.
Mr. Le Van Dai hopes that the Executive Board of Xuan Thieu 1 Self-managed Workers' Group will become a "locomotive" connecting workers, an "extended arm" of the trade union. The Executive Board needs to grasp the aspirations of workers, propose recommendations and coordinate to maintain security and order. Mr. Dai also suggested that the Hai Van Ward Trade Union support and organize many activities to care for workers.
On this occasion, the Da Nang City Labor Federation presented 1 loudspeaker to the working group and 10 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND) to workers in difficulty. The conference also combined with propaganda on security and order for workers.
