Implementing Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on innovating the organization and operation of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation, on the afternoon of August 21, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung and the trade union Working in Dong Nai province on piloting the establishment of upper-level trade unions in the non-state sector.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung said that currently, the non-state sector has many qualified grassroots unions and needs to upgrade to higher-level grassroots unions. However, through screening and review, the grassroots union of Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as THACO) is a unit with many outstanding activities, ensuring the conditions to upgrade to the union level. on basis.
Therefore, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung asked THACO to unify the viewpoint so that the working group can report and submit to the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in early September 2024.
THACO Trade Union representative said that after the working session, the union will report to THACO leadership for consideration and comments. Currently, THACO Trade Union is continuing to complete the project to establish a grassroots union.
THACO was established in 1997 from the "cradle" of Dong Nai province, and has now developed dramatically, becoming a multi-industry industrial corporation, including offices in Thu Duc City (HCMC), Chu Lai (Quang Nam Province). , Hanoi, Gia Lai and member corporations and companies across the country.
THACO union has a total of 21,181 union members.
