More than 8,100 billion VND to pay pensions
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Phan Van Men - Director of Hanoi Social Security - said: "After receiving funds from Vietnam Social Security, Hanoi Social Security actively developed a plan to pay pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 (combined 2 months) to beneficiaries. Accordingly, Hanoi Social Security has prepared more than VND 8,100 billion to pay pensions and social insurance benefits to nearly 600,000 people. On January 2-3, 2025, Hanoi Social Security directly transferred to personal accounts for 99% of the total beneficiaries and then coordinated with the Post Office to pay to those who received cash - about 7,000 people".
Along with the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for two months (January-February 2025), the Hanoi Social Insurance Agency also transferred Tet gifts from the Hanoi People's Committee in the payment period of January 2025.
According to Hanoi Social Insurance, previously, Hanoi People's Committee issued a Plan to give gifts to policy beneficiaries, meritorious people; people receiving monthly pensions and allowances for loss of working capacity; poor households; near-poor households; social protection beneficiaries; the elderly; workers and civil servants in especially difficult circumstances; female former youth volunteers in difficult circumstances; visiting and giving gifts to outstanding organizations, individuals, and policy implementing units on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Among the subjects receiving Tet gifts from the Hanoi People's Committee with a gift value of 300,000 VND/person are those receiving monthly pensions and allowances for loss of working capacity; social protection subjects receiving social benefits in the community...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao (Trung Hoa, Cau Giay, Hanoi) was very excited to receive 2 months of pension before Tet and Tet gifts from Hanoi People's Committee.

It is known that, with 2 months of pension and Tet gifts from Hanoi People's Committee, Ms. Dao received nearly 12 million VND.
Ms. Le Thu Ha (Dong Da, Hanoi) said: “For many years, I have been authorized to receive my father's pension on behalf of my father. Previously, I spent one session each month collecting my salary. However, since May 2024, after being guided and supported by Hanoi Social Security officers to complete the procedures to convert to receiving money through an account, I can now proactively withdraw money and give it to my father whenever he needs it. On January 3, I transferred to my father more than 20 million VND in combined pension for January-February 2025 and Tet gifts from the Hanoi People's Committee.”
Ms. Ha commented that the payment of 2 months of pension and Tet gifts before Tet makes the elderly very happy.
