According to the leader of Hanoi Social Security, implementing Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 18, 2024 of the Prime Minister on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Lunar New Year 2025; in order to promote the tradition of great solidarity, the spirit of "mutual love and affection" of the nation, well implement social security policies, take care of the material and spiritual life of the people... Vietnam Social Security has provided funds to pay pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 to Social Security of provinces and cities at the same time as pensions and social insurance benefits for January 2025, including beneficiaries receiving in cash and receiving through personal accounts.
“After receiving funds from Vietnam Social Security, Hanoi Social Security has actively developed a plan to pay pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 (combined 2 months) to beneficiaries. Accordingly, Hanoi Social Security has prepared more than VND 8,100 billion to pay pensions and social insurance benefits to nearly 600,000 people.
It is expected that on January 2-3, 2025, Hanoi Social Security will directly transfer to personal accounts for 99% of the total number of beneficiaries and then coordinate with the Post Office to pay to those receiving cash - about 7,000 people. The timely payment of 2-month combined pension (January-February 2025) by the Social Security agency will create conditions for pensioners and social security beneficiaries to happily welcome the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025" - Mr. Phan Van Men said.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, to ensure the rights of pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries, Vietnam Social Security requires provincial and municipal social security agencies to report to local Party committees and authorities on the plan to implement pension and social insurance benefits payment for January-February 2025 at the same time as pension and social insurance benefits payment for January 2025.
Pay monthly pensions and social insurance benefits via personal accounts for beneficiaries in January and February 2025 at the same payment period as January 2025, ensuring full and timely payment to beneficiaries.
Based on the funding plan of Vietnam Social Security, transfer funds to the Provincial Post Office to pay monthly pensions and social insurance benefits in cash to beneficiaries in a timely manner according to the instructions of Vietnam Social Security.
Coordinate with the post office to notify beneficiaries of the pension and social insurance allowance payment schedule for January and February 2025 at the same payment period as January 2025.
Strengthen inspection and supervision of the payment process to beneficiaries, coordinate, resolve and handle any arising issues, and promptly report any problems during the implementation process.
Vietnam Social Security requests Vietnam Post Corporation to direct its affiliated units to coordinate with the Social Security agency to develop a plan to pay monthly pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 during the January 2025 payment period, creating the most favorable conditions for beneficiaries during the Lunar New Year; organize payments at home for beneficiaries who are elderly, lonely, sick, or ill and unable to come to receive them at the payment point; carry out communication and notification to beneficiaries of monthly pensions and social insurance benefits about the above-mentioned lump-sum payments.
