The Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) issued a Plan to organize Workers' Month activities in 2025.
The purpose of Workers' Month 2025 is to affirm the role, position and contribution of the working class in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland; being a pioneer force in the cause of national renewal, creative labor, confidently entering a new era - the era of national growth.
In addition, raising awareness and responsibility of the whole society in caring for and protecting legitimate and legal rights and interests, improving living and working conditions for workers, honoring and promoting workers in the new development stage of the country.
Workers' Month 2025 also aims to encourage workers to actively study, improve their qualifications, skills, change their careers, approach modern labor trends, adapt to the context of international integration and the 4th Industrial Revolution, and prepare for the new development stage of the country.
According to the plan, the organization of Workers' Month in 2025 should be associated with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), 139 years of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025) and 135 years of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 18090 - May 19, 2025), activities to celebrate Party congresses at all levels and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025.
The plan sets a target of striving for 55% or more of grassroots trade unions in all types of enterprises to have at least 1 activity in response to Workers' Month; 35% or more of grassroots trade unions of administrative agencies and public service units to have at least 1 activity in response to Workers' Month in 2025.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor directs trade unions at all levels to continue to organize effective activities in localities, sectors and units, which are widely welcomed and supported by union members, civil servants, and employees, and are interested in and supported by Party committees, authorities, and employers at all levels; at the same time, select to effectively implement a number of activities, such as: Program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era"; program "May Dialogue" and Forum "Part with workers - Workers with the Party"; program "Thank you to workers".
In addition, Workers' Month 2025 will also be the Peak Month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; introducing the development of workers' party members.
To achieve this goal, trade unions at all levels need to step up propaganda and mobilize workers to raise awareness and responsibility for participating in building the working class and trade union activities, voluntarily participating in the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
At the same time, trade unions at all levels need to focus resources on developing union members; representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, creating a breakthrough in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions, especially in non-state enterprises and workers in the informal sector; organizing the admission of the "May Union Member Class".
Trade unions at all levels also need to review, discover, and build core union members, typical examples of advanced labor, production and trade union activities, especially on this occasion, select and introduce outstanding union members for the Party Committee to train, consider admitting to the Communist Party of Vietnam, and pay attention to union members who work directly in production.
Trade unions at all levels organize the program "Propaganda, raising awareness of union members and workers", in which, widely propagating and disseminating the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law in 2024; organizing online learning competitions combined with propaganda via social networks, phone applications, and staging these two laws.
The plan also includes activities expected to be organized at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level: Organizing the launching ceremony of Workers' Month - Month of action on occupational safety and hygiene in 2025; celebrating the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (1.5.1886-1.5.2025); organizing the "Creative Labor Festival" at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level; reporting and proposing that Party and State leaders attend, meet and discuss, share with union members, workers, and laborers who are exemplary in creativity; organizing an online contest to learn about the Trade Union Law, the Social Insurance Law in 2024...
