On July 13, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union (VTC) said that since the beginning of 2025, grassroots trade unions under the VTC have implemented many meaningful and practical activities to care for the lives of workers.
Typically, the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) Trade Union visited and supported 2,512 union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances, with serious illnesses, and policy families on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and Workers' Month 2025 with an amount of 2.512 billion VND.
VNPost Trade Union supported 808 million VND to visit 1,023 union members (UTS) with especially difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, and policy families on the occasion of Lunar New Year and Workers' Month in 2025. The number of union members and employees who are beneficiaries of the "Welfare for union members and employees" program is 460 people with an amount of 88.5 million VND.
VNPT Trade Union has developed a general policy for female workers on maternity leave, with one-time support (in addition to social insurance payments) of 10 million VND, in case of twins or more, from the second child onwards, for each child, an additional 5 million VND is supported; the policy to support specialized gynecological examination for female workers in the age group under 40 is 250,000 VND/person/year, for the age group over 40 is 650,000 VND/person/year.
The Trade Union of the Radio Frequency Department has developed regulations on additional support for female employees on maternity leave from funds (salary fund, welfare fund) to ensure that their income is about 50% - 70% of their salary and income while working.
Notably, the Central Post Office Trade Union has considered raising the salary scale for workers and civil servants based on the level of complexity and efficiency of work and the level of work completion. For female workers during maternity leave and raising young children, the level of complexity and work efficiency will not be reviewed...
In addition, the Central Post Office Trade Union organized a Sports Festival to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Department's establishment; the Ministry of Science and Technology Trade Union chaired the Sports Tournament to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day on May 18 and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1809 - May 19, 2025).
In 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will have 198 grassroots trade unions and enterprises organizing Workers' Month activities. In particular, many agencies have 100% of units under the Workers' Month organization such as VNPT Trade Union with 99/99 grassroots trade unions organized by enterprises; VNPost Trade Union with 92/92, grassroots trade unions organized by enterprises; Ministry of Science and Technology Trade Union with 6/6 grassroots trade unions organized by enterprises.
