On December 20, the Vietnam Health Trade Union held a conference to review the health sector's trade union work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025. Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Le Duc Luan, Deputy Minister of Health attended.
Ms. Pham Thanh Binh, President of the Vietnam Health Trade Union, said that in 2024, the Vietnam Health Trade Union at all levels has directed grassroots trade unions to coordinate with authorities at the same level to focus on taking care of union members and workers.
According to the data reported by grassroots unions in 2024, most units ensure salary and bonus regimes and coordinate with the authorities at the same level to take care of union members and workers. The average income of union members and workers in the administrative sector is more than 13,371,000 VND/person/month; in the production and business sector is more than 11,847,000 VND/person/month.
In 2025, the Vietnam Health Trade Union will carry out many activities, including continuing to promote the work of caring for, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; enhancing welfare and attracting and gathering workers into the union organization...
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Mr. Le Duc Luan, Deputy Minister of Health acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Vietnam Health Trade Union in 2024.
Ms. Thai Thu Xuong emphasized that in the coming time, the Vietnam Health Trade Union needs to do a good job of propaganda and education for union members and workers, raising political awareness about the Party, the Trade Union, the working class, and grasping the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; the tasks of the unit and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Health sector trade unions at all levels need to diversify the content and forms of organizing patriotic emulation movements in a practical, focused and key direction, creating motivation for union members and workers to enthusiastically compete in labor production, contributing to the implementation of the unit's targets and tasks.
In addition, trade unions at all levels thoroughly grasp and implement the Trade Union Law (amended). Actively research, propose and participate in developing policies and laws related to workers' rights, focusing on the Employment Law (amended), documents guiding the implementation of the Trade Union Law (amended), and the Social Insurance Law (amended).
Trade unions at all levels need to continue to innovate their organizational models, content, and forms of operation; build a team of grassroots trade union chairmen to meet task requirements; and introduce outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission...
Continue to direct trade unions at all levels to perform well the task of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; actively participate in building policies and laws related to workers and trade union organizations... At the conference, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded 4 emulation flags to 4 leading units; presented certificates of merit to 2 outstanding groups and 4 individuals. The Ministry of Health awarded certificates of merit to 1 group and 1 individual for their outstanding achievements in the prevention, control and overcoming of consequences of storm No. 3. The Vietnam Health Trade Union awarded 17 flags and 15 certificates of merit to groups; presented certificates of merit to individuals who had many achievements in urging and collecting and submitting union finances.
