The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor maintains the proposal of 2 options to increase the regional minimum wage by 9.8% and 8.5% at the 2nd meeting of the National Wage Council.

On the morning of July 16, the National Wage Council held the 2nd meeting on adjusting the regional minimum wage in 2027.

At the meeting, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor maintained the options as proposed at the first negotiation session at the National Wage Council.

Option 1 increases by an average of 9.8%, equivalent to 360,000-520,000 VND/person/month. Option 2 increases by an average of 8.5%, equivalent to 315,000-450,000 VND/person/month. The hourly minimum wage is proposed to be determined based on conversion from the monthly minimum wage, with the application of an adjustment coefficient.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor proposes the time to apply the new minimum wage from January 1, 2027.
