Talking to Lao Dong reporters about the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils (HĐND) at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy (born in 1981) - a garment worker at Truong An Industrial Cluster (An Khanh commune, Hanoi) - could not hide her excitement.
According to Ms. Thuy, although it was not her first time voting, she was very excited and curious about the candidates.
Because I wanted to understand the candidates and the action program, I took the opportunity to learn and read the information in advance through leaflets posted at the village cultural house and through newspapers and radio. As a worker, I hope that the elected candidates will have a voice so that functional agencies can build policies to ensure the lives and jobs of our workers and laborers," Ms. Thuy said.
Ms. Thuy said that she herself feels "more responsible" for her vote. Each ballot is the trust, entrustment and expectation of the voter, so Ms. Thuy reads and studies each candidate very carefully. "You can't swipe through it, look at it superficially, you have to be responsible for each ballot," Ms. Thuy affirmed.
Before the election day, Ms. Bui Thi Bich (born in 1981) - a garment worker working at Truong An Industrial Cluster - said that she spent time learning about candidates through reading information posted at the cultural house.

Ms. Bich shared that although her work at the garment factory is quite busy, she still arranges time to participate in the election. According to Ms. Bich, for workers like her, going to the polls is not only a right but also a responsibility of each citizen.
As a worker working in a private company, I hope that the elected delegates in the next term will propose and build policies that care about the lives, jobs and rights of workers, so that workers can feel secure in working and stabilizing their lives," Ms. Bich added.
Mr. Hoang Van Hung (born in 1948, in Truong An village, An Khanh commune, Hanoi) is a worker, retired in 1983. Although he has participated in many elections, Mr. Hung said he always feels excited and enthusiastic.
I read candidate list information at the village cultural house. I study biographies and action programs of each person. Every time I go to vote, I hope that those who are elected will develop policies towards a rich people and a strong country," Mr. Hung shared.

Mr. Hung added that with the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils (HĐND) at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, he personally sees many innovations. Among them, the most typical is that the media for the election is numerous and diverse, so all classes of people know clearly the information and achievements of the candidates; thanks to that, it will be easy to choose people with sufficient virtue and talent...
Looking at us as people participating in this election, we feel very excited and excited. We really hope that all elected delegates will do a good job of representing the people, giving opinions that the people want and entrust. Because we have high expectations, we spend time reading and carefully studying each candidate to elect the most worthy delegate," Mr. Hung said.
