The reality of the vitality of the theoretical review, skill training, and skilled worker contest movement organized by the Trade Union spreading widely shows the need to improve knowledge, practice skills and prove the capacity of workers (NLD). In Hanoi, the movement has gone into life, becoming a motivation for each NLD to strive to rise up. 2025 is the fourth time the People's Committee and the Hanoi City Labor Federation have coordinated to organize a City-level skilled worker contest to honor workers with high skills, skilled workers, creative workers; contributing to improving the quality of human resources, increasing labor productivity, and the competitiveness of the Capital and the nation in the process of integration. More importantly, this is an opportunity for workers in units and businesses in the area to have conditions to exchange and learn experiences in labor and production, contributing to building a team of skilled technical workers with ethical qualities and industrial style, capable of meeting increasingly advanced production technology and equipment.
When discussing emulation movements in general, initiative and creativity movements and skilled worker contests of the Trade Union organization, and the Capital's CNVCLD team in particular, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu analyzed: Material benefits are the most specific and practical motivation to promote initiatives and creativity in each worker, so when the Trade Union organization dialogues, negotiates, and signs collective labor agreements, it needs to include regulations on enjoying the rights of people with creative initiatives commensurate with their contributions. The Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also expressed his wish and belief that the movement to promote initiatives, creativity, skilled labor emulation, skilled worker contests, theoretical review, and skills training of the Hanoi City Labor Federation will continue to develop further in the coming time. This is the way the Capital Trade Union organization contributes to concretizing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in scientific and technological development, innovation and digital transformation of the country.
Helping workers have stable jobs and higher incomes
To create opportunities for workers to have better jobs, higher incomes, and quickly adapt to the development of the labor market, the Vietnam Trade Union organization determines to improve the qualifications, capacity, and competitiveness of our country's human resources with countries in the region and the world; meet the quantitative needs and quality requirements of the labor market in the context of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution and the development of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Annually, the Trade Union level organizes propaganda and dissemination of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on labor, employment, and vocational education for workers; proposes and participates with functional and professional agencies at the same level to develop policies and laws, regulations and rules on vocational conversion training for workers. In particular, grassroots trade unions where vocational conversion training is needed for workers negotiate to include this content in collective labor agreements; develop plans to coordinate and link with businesses and grassroots trade unions to train vocational conversion for workers.
Training and retraining for workers in FDI enterprises is one of the activities that are being concerned about. Trade unions participating in activities to improve the quality of workers in FDI enterprises demonstrate the role of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers in enterprises. Because, in the current conditions, workers working in enterprises in general, and FDI enterprises in particular, always want to learn and improve their qualifications and capacity... to increase job opportunities, increase income, and improve their lives. In addition, when the quality of workers is improved, it will help enterprises improve labor productivity and enhance their competitiveness against other enterprises. Reality shows that it is necessary to organize surveys and consult opinions of employers of FDI enterprises on the needs and content of training; strengthen connections and information exchange between enterprises, especially FDI enterprises. Because the content of training must meet the needs of enterprises. In addition to surveys and information exchanges, there is also a need to improve the quality of workers in FDI enterprises.
