HCMC - Nearly 150 employees of Vinh Thong Trading and Service Company Limited have authorized the union to sue a company that owes nearly 20 billion VND in wages and social insurance.

On the afternoon of March 28, nearly 150 employees of Vinh Thong Trading Service Co., Ltd. (specializing in leather shoe production, at Lot 3, Road No. 13, Tan Binh Industrial Park, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City) authorized the Legal Consulting Center under the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City to sue the company.

The reason is that these workers have owed the company 65% of their December 2024 salary, January 2025 salary and social insurance (SI) debt for a total of nearly 20 billion VND.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, in February 2025, workers of Vinh Thong Trading and Service Company Limited stopped working collectively for many days to collect unpaid wages.

Before the Lunar New Year, workers stopped working, asked the company to pay their wages to have living expenses, pay their rent, return to their hometowns and the company only advanced to each worker 35% of their December 2024 salary, and pledged to pay full wages after the workers returned to work after Tet. However, up to now, the workers have not received enough salary, so they have stopped working collectively.

The authorities of Tan Phu District and the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City invited the enterprise to work with the workers, however, there was no legal representative of the company to work.
