By the morning of February 20, nearly 300 workers of Vinh Thong Trading Service Co., Ltd. (specializing in leather shoe production, at Lot 3, Road No. 13, Tan Binh Industrial Park, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City) continued to stop working collectively to collect unpaid wages.
According to the workers' feedback, Vinh Thong Trading and Service Company Limited currently owes 65% of the December 2024 salary and the entire January 2025 salary of the workers.
Before the Lunar New Year of At Ty, workers stopped demanding that the company pay their salaries to have living expenses, pay their rent, return to their hometowns and the company only advanced to each worker 35% of their salary for December 2024, and pledged to pay full wages after the workers returned to work after Tet. However, up to now, the workers have not received enough salary, so they have stopped working collectively.
During the recent Lunar New Year, the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City gave each worker 2 million VND in cash and a gift of necessities for Tet.
On the morning of February 20, the authorities of Tan Phu District and the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City invited businesses to work with workers.
However, there was no legal representative of the company to work. Therefore, the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City has instructed workers in the procedures for filing a lawsuit against the company and is ready to receive authorization from workers to file a lawsuit against the company if authorized.
