On February 3, news from Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that it had just issued a Plan to implement labor registration, in order to build a synchronous and accurate labor database. This is to serve management and ensure the legitimate rights of workers.
According to the Plan, employees who are subject to compulsory social insurance, employees who are employed but not subject to compulsory social insurance, and unemployed people are responsible for registering or adjusting labor registration information when there are changes.
Specifically, from July 1, 2026, the registration and adjustment of information will be carried out for employees subject to compulsory social insurance participation.
For employees who are not subject to compulsory social insurance and unemployed employees, the implementation time is from January 1, 2027.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee determined that labor registration information is an important basis for workers to have timely access to job support policies, counseling, job introduction, vocational training, vocational skills improvement, unemployment support and other social security policies as prescribed.
For employees participating in social insurance and unemployment insurance, labor registration data contributes to ensuring the confirmation of the process of participation and enjoyment of benefits is accurate, complete and unified.
Building labor registration data "correct, sufficient, clean, living, unified, shared" not only serves state management but also directly protects the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
To create favorable conditions for workers, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Home Affairs to preside over and organize the implementation of the Plan; provide specific guidance on dossiers, procedures, and labor registration procedures; and at the same time manage and exploit labor and employment information according to its authority.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also requested the Provincial Police to coordinate in verifying labor information from the National Population Database, contributing to ensuring accurate, unified and safe labor registration information.
Many workers highly appreciate Khanh Hoa province's implementation of the labor registration plan, because this is a necessary step for the rights of workers to be fully and transparently recognized.
Mr. Duc Thao - a worker working in Nam Nha Trang ward - shared that when information about employment, insurance participation process and qualifications are updated uniformly, workers will be more assured in accessing support policies, vocational training, job introduction as well as social security regimes.
Labor registration not only helps management agencies firmly grasp the labor situation in the area, but also helps workers themselves proactively protect their legitimate rights and interests, especially for freelance workers and those who have not participated in compulsory social insurance" - Mr. Duc Thao said.
