Building a digital union at the Hanoi City Police Union

In the context of strong digital transformation, the Hanoi City Police Union has quickly adapted and built a "digital union" in the capital.

According to Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Luong Duc Hai, Head of the Hanoi City Police Trade Union, digital transformation poses great requirements and challenges for all agencies and organizations. If they do not promptly grasp the trend and take specific actions to adapt, they will fall behind.

In addition, implementing Resolution No. 60 and Conclusion No. 157 of the Central Committee, the system of trade union organizations in the People's Public Security in general, and the Trade Union in the Capital Police in particular, are experiencing a very fundamental, unprecedented change.

The number of grassroots trade union organizations and union members in the Capital Police has decreased sharply, but the functions, tasks, scope of activities and workload and working topics have not decreased. This raises a big problem: How to make the Capital Police Union maintain its effectiveness, while ensuring better understanding of the thoughts, aspirations and care for union members.

To synchronously solve the challenges from the new organizational model, and the practical requirements, the Capital Police Trade Union has shaped the building of a "Digital Trade Union" through three focuses.

"Digitize" management and operation, in which, priority is given to applying information technology to professional work, towards connective, focused and transparent management, helping to replicate the model of digitalization of reporting at grassroots trade unions...; interaction and internal communication through the use of digital platforms, using social networks (Zalo, Facebook...) to convey official information, spread programs, projects, union work; digital transformation with the goal of personalizing the work of caring for the lives of union members and workers.

According to Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Luong Duc Hai, implementing Decision 2149 dated November 22, 2024 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in recent times, the Capital Police Trade Union has synchronously deployed measures to apply digital transformation to all aspects of work and has brought double results, both effectively serving both political and professional tasks and effectively implementing social security work.

Through the digitalization of union members' records, the Capital Police Union promptly advises and proactively implements large union member welfare programs and projects; gives union members gifts during holidays and Tet with a large quantity but quickly and conveniently; does not let the beneficiaries miss out...

Over the past 5 years, health examinations and consultations have been organized for more than 5,000 union members and 32 union members' relatives who have had high-quality glass Immunity changes; adopted 29 union children in difficult circumstances; more than 12,000 gifts were presented... with a total value of over 5 billion VND.

Regarding social security, thanks to the application of digital platforms, the core of which are social networking sites, the Capital Police Union has mobilized a lot of resources to support poor people and people affected by natural disasters and floods. Over the past 5 years, more than 5 billion VND has been mobilized to implement social security programs and projects in the Northwestern provinces.
