Some famous smartphone models launched in Vietnam in early 2025 have recorded an outstanding number of orders compared to the previous generation.

Highlights from mid-range smartphones

Since the beginning of the year, market research company Statista has forecasted that the smartphone market in Vietnam will reach a revenue of 4.1 billion USD in 2025.

The annual growth rate is forecast to be slightly 1.43%, corresponding to the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2025 to 2029, with high demand in the low-cost, mid-range equipment segment.

Market developments have shown the boom of the smartphone market, especially in the low-cost and mid-range segments. For example, Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 with a price of about 5 million VND has received more than 240,000 orders after only 2 months of opening for sale.

Continuing its success, Xiaomi has recently launched the Redmi Note 14 5G version, promising to create another boost in the second quarter of 2025.

Or like OPPO has launched many smartphone models from popular to high-end. The product line is positioned as a "portrait expert" of the OPPO Reno13 series, selling more than 60,000 units after only 1 month of opening for sale, surpassing the previous generation.

The Reno13 Series is also the first generation of Oppo to integrate and perfect Vietnamese artificial intelligence (AI), helping to optimize the experience of Vietnamese users, and has a quite affordable price, suitable for the majority of consumers.

Meanwhile, HONOR, a brand that has just returned to Vietnam since July 2023, with many mid-range products, also recorded a growth rate of 4 times in the first 3 months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. HONOR X9b, a mid-range product line, achieved very good sales at the FPT Shop system.

With products in the high-end segment such as iPhone 16e, Galaxy S25 series, Xiaomi 14 Ultra or OPPO Find N5, the number of people interested and depositing also recorded positive numbers from consumers.

Waiting for another boost in the second quarter of 2025

Sharing with Lao Dong, Mr. Phong Le - Sales Director of Honor Vietnam said: "The smartphone market in Vietnam this year is expected to grow slowly, but the explosion of AI is opening up many opportunities for innovation.

In my opinion, technology companies will focus on exploiting AI to improve user experience, create difference and promote new needs. AI will definitely be a factor shaping the market this year.

With a focus on popularizing AI technology at the popular level for phone lines, HONOR launched a new Honor X8c product model in early April. This smartphone model costs only about 7 million VND but integrates AI (artificial intelligence), along with a thin, light design and high durability.

Also in April, the OPPO Find N5 high-end smartphone model will reach Vietnamese customers. According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Khue, representative of the Viettel Store system, Oppo Find N5 is an AI foldable phone with extremely impressive thinness accompanied by a very powerful configuration at the present time. Therefore, grasping the needs of customers, the system has received "comments" with many accompanying incentives.

In addition, some other smartphone models of POCO, Tecno... were also launched in April, promising to create a vibrant smartphone picture in the second quarter of 2025.
