Since the beginning of January 2025, the Vietnamese mobile phone market has heated up as a series of new products from famous brands have been continuously launched.
Highlights from Oppo Reno13 series
Oppo Reno13 series created the first highlight when there were more than 20,000 orders as soon as it was announced for sale, an impressive growth of over 130% compared to the previous generation Reno12 Series.
In addition to the "portrait expert" positioning, the Reno13 Series is also the first generation that Oppo has integrated and perfected Vietnamese AI, helping to optimize the experience of Vietnamese users.
With prices ranging from 8.99 million to 18.99 million VND, with 4 models in the mid-range segment, Oppo offers consumers many options in the shopping period near Lunar New Year 2025.
Rebound from mid-range segment
Not only Oppo, many other brands also continuously launched new smartphones in Vietnam in January 2025, from Xiaomi, Poco, Honor.
With Xiaomi, they have launched the Xiaomi Redmi 14 series with 4 versions: Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G, with prices ranging from 4.99 to 10.99 million VND. The manufacturer has increased the integration of AI tools into this mid-range product line, bringing new experiences to users.
In January 2024, Xiaomi's market share in Vietnam reached 19%, a significant increase compared to 5% in the same period in 2023. Therefore, they are very hopeful to make a breakthrough in early 2025.

“With the launch right before Tet, this is considered the busiest period of the year, the system aims to grow 20% compared to the previous generation. With upgrades and improvements in design and features, the new Redmi Note product line is expected to account for 30% of the system's total sales in the upcoming mid-range mobile segment, especially near and after Tet,” said a representative of CellphoneS.
At the Mobile World system, they expect the two new products from Oppo and Xiaomi to create a big boost in revenue in the pre-Tet period, because the mid-range segment accounts for more than 27% of the entire smartphone industry's revenue.
Poco also launched the new X7 series with significant improvements in features, performance and design. With a price of less than 10 million VND, it gives users more choices in the days leading up to Tet.
Or like Honor, they also launched the Honor x9c line at almost the same time as other brands. Unlike the Magic V3 line in the high-end segment, the Honor x9c focuses on the mid-range segment, with improvements in durability and AI features.
According to Statista's forecast, the smartphone market size in Vietnam will reach 4.1 billion USD in 2025. The number of smartphones sold this year is expected to be higher as the number of mobile Internet users in Vietnam increases from 85.73 million in 2024 to 91.32 million in 2025.
