Although it cannot replace the traditional physical pageversing feeling, the new Touble-touch to pageversing feature promises to enhance the e-learning experience for users.
Accordingly, users can tap the side or back of the kindle twice to flip the page, instead of switching or tapping the screen like before.
This feature can be enabled in Settings, device Options. Notably, this operation does not use a touch screen but is said to be based on an accelerator sensor integrated into the device.
Not only stopping at flip-ups, the double-touch feature also allows users to roll the page in the homepage and library interface.
Along with this update, Amazon also introduced a new feature called Recaps for Books in Series.
The 5.18.1 update is being rolled out to new generation kindles like the kindle Colorsoft, as well as older devices like the 10th generation kindle and kindle Paperwhite.
Even the kindle Oasis - the last kindle line to keep the physical button - will receive this update.
If the update does not appear yet, users can download and install it manually from the official Amazon website.
