In particular, the Siri update with more natural dialogue capabilities will not be released as expected.
At the end of last year, journalist Mark Gurman said that Apple was developing a new version of Siri based on the large language model (LLM) for iOS 19. This version will merge two existing Siri platform systems (one for simple requests and one for more complex tasks) into a unified architecture.
Siri LLM and the new system will still launch with iOS 19. However, the natural dialogue feature, which allows Siri to chat more flexibly in ChatGPT's style, is behind schedule and will not be introduced in June.
Gurman said that Apple's AI department employees currently believe that the Siri version with enhanced conversation capabilities will not be available to users before iOS 20, at the earliest in 2026.
At the same time, Apple's internal data shows that the actual level of use of Apple Intelligence - its AI feature set is at an "extremely low" level. This shows that current features are not really attractive to users.
