Anker recalls a series of backup chargers due to fire risk

QUANG MINH |

Anker Technology accessories company has just issued a global recall notice related to many failed backup charging models that are at risk of causing fire and explosion.

After recalling the PowerCore 10,000 (code A1263) model in the US earlier this month due to the lithium-ion battery overheating, Anker continues to expand the recall program for many other products currently on sale globally.

Affected samples include:

Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) code A1257

Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, with USB-C cable) code A1647

Anker MagGo Power Bank (10,000mAh, 7.5W) code A1652

Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, with USB-C cable and Lightning) code A1681

Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, with USB-C cable) code A1689

According to Anker, these products use batteries from the same supplier, which can cause overheating errors, causing plastic leakage, smoke, and even fire. Although the incident rate is assessed as low, the company still proactively reclaims to ensure absolute safety for users.

Users can check whether their device is on the recall list by entering the serial number on the program's official website. Anker requires a purchase invoice for confirmation, then customers can choose to receive a replacement product or gift voucher for use on the company's website.
