The Apple Car Key feature has allowed iPhone users to unlock and start their cars using their phones.
According to a new code discovery, it looks like cars from three more companies will soon support Apple's Car Key system.
According to a report from MacRumors, code inside the Wallet app on iPhone has been updated with references to Volvo, Polestar, and Audi.
While these references don't mean the feature will launch anytime soon, they do suggest Apple is working on it.
Car Key allows users to lock and unlock their car, as well as start it using their iPhone or Apple Watch using NFC technology. With the key stored in a digital wallet, users can open the car by standing nearby, remotely, or using an NFC reader to start the car.
The feature is currently supported by select models from BMW, BYD, Genesis, Hyundai, and Kia. Adding Volvo, Polestar, and Audi to the list could expand the number of iPhone users who can take advantage of the feature in the future.
