According to Bloomberg, Apple is conducting a comprehensive overhaul of Siri on the iOS 27 operating system, turning this virtual assistant into a smart control center, natural conversation and deep integration into the iPhone.
Instead of appearing as a bubble icon as it is now, the interactions of the new Siri will be displayed directly from the Dynamic Island interface.
This change helps feedback from AI bring a sense of synchronization and smoothness as part of the core of the operating system.
At the same time, the Spotlight Search search feature is also strongly upgraded. Users only need to swipe down from anywhere to receive pre-formatted answers created by AI, allowing them to compose messages, activate shortcuts or add calendar events immediately instead of returning traditional keywords.
Notably, Apple will introduce a standalone Siri application with an interface similar to modern chatbots.
This application has advanced features such as storing chat history, processing long conversations, supporting uploading documents and images no less than ChatGPT or Claude.
To realize this, Apple is said to be cooperating with Google to use Gemini AI technology for cloud tasks, similar to how they used to set Google as the default search engine.
Along with the cooperation, Apple still persistently develops internal AI models running directly on the device (on-device). This strategy helps the company maintain a strict security commitment, minimizing the sending of user personal data to cloud servers.
Although ChatGPT is leading with about 900 million users per week, Apple holds an exclusive advantage thanks to its giant hardware ecosystem of more than 2.5 billion devices operating globally.
This is a solid launching pad for the company to popularize AI to mass consumers. All official answers about the new generation AI strategy and the appearance of Siri will be announced by Apple at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.
