Apple has temporarily stopped developing a wearable device integrating AI and cameras. The product is designed like a small pin, which can be fastened to clothes or worn around the neck.
The device is similar in size to the AirTag, with a thin round disc shape. The prototype is said to use aluminum and glass, and also has a physical button on the side.
The camera on the device is responsible for recording what is happening around the user. This information can be sent to Siri for AI to analyze and answer questions.
For example, users can ask Siri about the location they are standing or the object they are seeing. The device is also said to have features similar to Visual Intelligence, a technology that allows AI to recognize and provide information about what appears in front of the camera.
This idea is similar to some previous information about Apple researching cameras for AirPods. According to information published by Macrumors, these devices can use cameras to help AI understand the environment around users.
Previously, Apple was said to have planned to launch this pin-shaped AI device in 2027. However, the suspension of the development process may prevent the above plan from being implemented as planned.
Apple is still said to be researching many other wearable devices, including health tracking wristbands without screens, smart glasses integrated with AI and AirPods with cameras.
